Navel Oranges

Temple Oranges
The Temple is regarded as Florida's finest eating orange. It has an oval shape with a deep orange color. The Temple orange has a rich, juicy flavor with few seeds. The fruit is easy to peel or section and they are in season from January through March.

Valencia Oranges
The Valencia orange has a juicy, rich flavor and aroma. It is medium to large in size, a round-to-oval shape and a yellow to orange color that sometimes can be tinged green. Valencia oranges have a smooth texture with a thin peel and are in season from February through May.

- Tangelos
The Tangelo is a mix between a grapefruit and a tangerine, which produces a sweet, tangy flavor. It has a dark reddish-orange color and a pebbly texture skin and is fairly easy to peel. The Florida tangelo varieties available nationwide are:
Honeybell or Minneola Tangelos
The Minneola Tangelo is often called the "Honeybell" Tangelo because of its bell-shaped appearance. It has a deep red-orange color, a very sweet flavor, high juice content and is medium to large in size, and may contain a few seeds. Honeybells have a smooth to pebbly texture and are in season from January through February.

Orlando Tangelos
The Orlando Tangelo is round and medium in size. It has a light to deep orange color with a pebbly, thick skin that is fairly easy to peel. They are in season only in January.

- Tangerines
Tangerines are small, dark orange fruits with a smooth, easy-to-peel skin and a deep orange color both inside and outside. They have a rich and sweet flavor and are easy to pull-apart because of its naturally formed segments.
Tangerines are ideal for desserts or as a sweet nibble. The Florida tangerine varieties available nationwide are:
Honey or Murcott Tangerines
The Honey Tangerine, which is also known as the Murcott Tangerine, has an orange-yellowish color and may have some specks of green color. The juicy red interior has a sweet, honey flavor and some seeds. The fruit has a smooth, easy-to-peel skin and they are in season from January through April.

Fallglo Tangerines
The Fallglo Tangerine has a mild, sweet and juicy flavor. The fruit is easy to peel and eat because of the naturally fragmented sections. They are in season from October through December.

Sunburst Tangerines
The Sunburst Tangerine is known for its sweet, rich flavor. The fruit has a bright, deep orange color, is easy to peel or section, and are in season from October through December.

Dancy Tangerines
The Dancy Tangerine has a sweet, tangy flavor. It has a deep, orange-reddish color with a smooth peel. Dancy Tangerines are sometimes called the "zipperskin fruit" because they are so easy to peel and section apart. They are in season from December through January.

- Grapefruit
Grapefruit are known for their tangy sweet taste. Interior fruit colors include white, yellow, red and dark red. They are perfect for peeling, cutting, sectioning and juicing. Eat as a snack, use in salads and recipes, or drink the juice. The Florida grapefruit varieties available nationwide are:
Dark Red Grapefruit
The Dark Red Grapefruit is also known as Flame, Ray or Star. The fruit is known for its exceptionally intense dark red, seedless interior and sweet flavor with very little bitterness. The rind is smooth and yellow with blush pigmentation. They are in season from October through June.

Red Grapefruit
The Red Grapefruit, sometimes called Ruby Red, is known for its lighter red interior color and also for being seedless. The rind is smooth and yellow with blush pigmentation. Its sweet flavor and seedless characteristics make it perfect for sectioning. They are in season from October through April.

White Grapefruit
The White Grapefruit's interior color is white or pale yellow. Varieties include Thompson, Marsh and Duncan. The rind is smooth and light to medium yellow color with no blush pigmentation. It has a robust juicy sweetness with a tangier taste than other varieties. They are in season from late September through April.
